Heavy Diesel Power Plant for Guatemala

DAKO WORLDWIDE TRANSPORT GMBH has been awarded the transportation of a diesel power plant from Bremen and Rostock / Germany to Guatemala. Whereas the heavy diesel engines with a unit weight of 160 tons were transported to Puerto Quetzal, the generators with unit weights of just over 60 tons were transported to the port of Santo Tomas de Castilla at the Atlantic coast of Guatemala. DACO HEAVY LIFT DE CENTRO AMERICA S.A. in Guatemala, a sister company of DAKO, is in charge of the transportation of all material from the ports to the final site in Amatitlan / Guatemala as well as of the delivery onto the foundation. The generators are transported via the Atlantic coast on a newly acquired very light low-bed loader with a loading capacity of 80 tons from Santo Tomas de Castilla to Amatitlan.

The transport was executed in August / September 2006.
